Abstract


With the development of China’s market economy,great achievements have been made in its supermarket chain industry.Compared with large international chain enterprises,however,big gap still exists in the logistics system,especially in logistics distribution,of the industry.Focusing on this problem,the current study conducts a detailed investigation on the present situation and existing problems of the domestic supermarket chain industry.The investigation takes MerryMart chain supermarket as the research object and puts forward with relevant suggestions and solutions basing on related theories.Major problems of the logistics system of MerryMart chain supermarket include:1.Low awareness of the importance of logistics;2.Fewness of logistics distribution model;3.Weak foundation and low economy of logistics distribution;4.Backward information system and underdeveloped information service function;and 5.Confusion of the management of the suppliers.Aiming at the above problems,this study closely relates the practical situation of MerryMart chain supermarket with relevant theories and works out corresponding solutions including the following:1.Introducing socialized logistics to optimize the logistics distribution model of the enterprise;2.Promoting comprehensive integration with Wu Mart Stores Inc.to realize united purchase and lower purchasing cost;3.Implementing human resource strategies to complete the personnel mechanism of the enterprise;4.Enhancing information system construction for better information services;5.Reinforcing the management of the inventory system and suppliers to decrease logistics cost.
