Abstract

This thesis summarizes the status of the overseas and domestic research on energy analysis & design theory and passive energy dissipation technology, then introduces the time-history analysis method based on mode decomposition which is informed from the original passive energy dissipation structure method, furthermore, it also researchs the energy design method for passive energy dissipation structures. main contents of this thesis as follows:(1)This paper analyses and compares the energy responses of the structure under different coordinates and the energy-dissipating capacity of various dampers and provides the specific formulas for danpers energy caculation.(2)The paper studies the energy items of passive energy dissipation structures by using the time-history analysis method based on mode decomposition:decomposes the multi-degree-of-freedom(MDOF) system into equivalent single-degree-of-freedom(SDOF) system by formations and then solves characteristic parameters, establishs the equivalent force-displacement model, then caculates the energy items with ground motion acceleration schedule and combinates all of this items.(3)The paper solves damping coefficient of equivalent SDOF by comfirming total damping ratio of MDOF and caculates the damping energy.(4)This thesis creates a program for structure elastic-plastic seismic response counting in FORTRAN, then, verifies the reliability of this program by examples analysis.(5)By discussing and comparativing the structure absorption effects under the condition of damping ratio discontinous changing, this paper finds the optimal damping ratio and then designs structures according to the existing standard for seismic design.(6)Another important working of this paper is to demonstrate the necessity of design method of passive energy dissipation structures which are based on plastic displacement and to propose a set of system design method of passive energy dissipation structures. At last, this thesis explains the specific procedures of this design method by designing a high-rise framework structure.
