Abstract


Geographical indication is not only a boost motor for agriculture, but also a permit of characteristic agricultural products going forward the world and a money tree for peasant. Especially in the process of economic globalization, It is important to further increase the international protection for geographical indication on agricultural products ,which can improve the competitive power of agricultural products, promote agricultural structure up-grade, increase the income of the farmers, gradually formed good circle for regional economy. The paper outlined the abundant characteristic agricultural product resources. On this basis, the paper discusses mainly the international protection for agricultural products. This paper analyzed bilateral agreement、regional agreement and multilateral agreement, which constitutes the legal protection basis. Successively, the paper analyzed the system of foreign countries on protection for agricultural products, which provide experience for our system perfection. On the basis of above, the paper put forward concrete suggestions of international protection for Chinese characteristic agricultural products.This dissertation is composed of the introduction and 4 chapters: The first chapter summarized geographical indication of agricultural products. It discussed the conception of geographical indication by comparing among indication of source, appellations of origin and trademark. On the basis of natural relationship between geographical indication and agricultural products, the paper points out the characteristics of geographical indication of agricultural products. At the same time, it also analysis the significance of international protection for agricultural products.The second chapter focused on the legal basis for international protection of agricultural products. In this part, bilateral agreement、regional agreement and multilateral agreement were discussed.The third chapter studied on the practice of international protection of agricultural products. The practice of America、France、India were analyzed, especially how they construct legal system from actual conditions.The fourth chapter discussed the actual situation of china firstly. Then the paper put forward some suggestions on international protection of agricultural products according to the international rules and the experience of other countries, based on existed problems.
