Abstract


China is in the socio-economic modernization , urbanization , motorization period of rapid development , the significance of walking and cycling as a transport mode has been significantly weakened . The problem of traffic congestion , pollution , traffic problems of the energy problem has been not only the largest city unique , medium-sized cities are also facing the same confusion . The slow walkers travel environment lends deteriorating fraught with risk and inconvenience . The car seems to be the master of the city , the public space of the city by a car filled with less diversified and rich in vitality use activities , the attractiveness of urban public space is gradually reduced . Slow traffic planning high quality in order to better implement the scientific concept of development and sustainable development concept , has become a necessary means . Appropriate development of motorized transport , and promote the collaboration of various modes of transportation development is an effective way to solve this many urban problems . Slow traffic system building is to create a livable city , while the city to focus on rapid transit development , convenient Slow traffic can not be ignored for the bike and walking . First on the basis of summing up the theory and method of foot traffic and bicycle traffic study at home and abroad a medium-sized city on foot and bicycle traffic situation and existing problems ; Secondly, the pedestrian , bicycle and traffic characteristics of the elderly to find out pedestrians, bicycles and elderly traffic influencing factors ; Finally, low-carbon transportation , green transportation planning theory to guide the direction , combined with the development of strategic objectives of the medium-sized cities in China at this stage , from planning and design to guide how a medium-sized city slow traffic system and summarizes some of the more suitable for medium-sized city slow facility design .
