Spatial distribution , concurrency and asynchronous network protocol , these characteristics lead to concurrency errors are difficult to reproduce , traditional testing methods is difficult to find these potential problems . Model checking as a formal verification method to automatically verify that a system meets the design specifications , with a high degree of automation and provide counter-examples , and many other advantages , in recent years, is widely used in hardware and software verification . Authentication protocol design specifications by model checking techniques can be effective in reducing the protocol design errors , better assurance protocol design and implementation of the correctness and completeness . Based on the model checking tool SPIN formal analysis and verification of network protocols . , Respectively, for the two - way TCP connection management protocol and wireless LAN protocols (802.11i) certification process modeling and verification . Extracted by analyzing the protocol design specification protocol behavior of finite state automata as a model of transition , and converted into PROMELA model as the SPIN tool of input , followed by a linear temporal logic (Linear-time Temporal Logic, LTL) formula to describe the system expectations met to modify and improve the properties , according to SPIN simulation results of the model , and ultimately the formation of highly consistent design model . The use of the SPIN tools to detect PROMELA model to meet the desired attributes , if not met, auxiliary tools given error path fault location . TCP connection management protocol as well as two-way authentication protocol design defects discovered during the verification process and improvement program for the detected defects . Formal modeling and verification , the actual agreement gives a controllable scale and design highly consistent with the agreement formal model for building modeling framework based on the decomposition and iterative thinking in the modeling process . Extraction protocol models and validation results can help protocol -depth understanding of the protocol specification , the auxiliary protocol implementations .
