Virtual plant is considered to be the research as objects of plant individual and group, the visual representation use the computer technology in 3D space of plant growth process. Specifically, using a simple but through physical world can reflect the true plants of mathematics abstract described simulation model, the model can simulate the objects of occurrence, development process, provide useful tools of explaining phenomenon, revealing that rules, mechanism, predicting results. In recent years, along with the development of information technology, virtual plant research is gradually becoming the domestic and foreign agricultural research hotspot and focus. By means of computer, plant growth modeling and simulation can bring new opportunities for exploring the mystery of life, growth process rules, and improving the quality of human survival environment.The main characteristic of virtual plant research is modeling the plant morphology in use of the quantitative relationship between the plant morphological structure dynamic variation and environment. Then express the plant morphology by way of visualization. This study aims at establishing the models of organs, individual and rice canopy structure in use of system analysis method by combining rice growth model output. Realize preliminary visual expression of rice organs, individual plant and canopy in further use of L-system technology. This research can lay foundation for constructing digital and visualization of crop growth system.This research is Study on Structural-Functional Feedback Mechanism-based Simulation Model of Virtual Rice. Through the in-depth study of rice growth process, complete rice shape analysis and extraction. Data collected will be converted to geometry and image information and displayed on the computer, and then interact with each other. Using this method we can find out the scientific rules which are hidden in data intuitively and vividly. By this way we can provide for agriculture research more convenient, efficient research methods in plant growth mechanism of precision agriculture, culture and technology application etc. provide for agriculture research more broad prospect. Specific include the following aspects:Leaf visualization of morphological characteristics. The modeling of Rice leaf includes static and dynamic simulations. Static simulation includes the triangle mesh, triangle approximation algorithm, Bezier curved surface etc. Dynamic simulation mainly use the vein of the curve, establish the relationship between the rice leaf and time, describe leaf change over time, realize the growth of rice leaf dynamic visual simulation.The topological structure of individual rice. Through the analysis of the dynamic characteristics of rice growth, according to the relationship in leaf ages, main stem and tillers, Parameter L-system theory will be used to simulate the process of rice growth. Main job is to build a virtual rice dynamic growth process model and the static one.Rice canopy illumination model establishment. Rice photosynthesis production and dry matter accumulation model is be established on the basis of the single leaf photosynthesis model. In order to provide theoretical base for design of ideal rice type, establish the layered illumination model and discuss how the plant types can affect the rice illumination interception.Test and evaluation of the model. Compare the real and virtual rice. The rice growth model of subjective - objective index system also will be evaluated.Through comprehensive analysis of the original experiment data of rice plant and organs, the method which combines the mathematical model with the field test data will be used. The visual simulation of rice growth is be researched by the computer technology of OpenGL and VC and the technology of the computer simulation modeling algorithm. Given these comprehensive thorough researches, the expected results will be realized.
