Objective:To evaluate the consistency of computed tomography(CT)、proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H-MRS) and Iterative decomposition of water and fat with echo asymmetry and least-squares estimation (IDEAL) in detecting liver fat content. Methods:15 homogeneity Beagle dogs were enrolled in the study. All the dogs underwent plain CT scan,Single Voxel H’-MRS analysis and IDEAL imaging synchronously. The variable indexes include the CT values, the 1H-MRS peaks of H2O and lipid、the areas under the peaks, the fat and water signal values of IDEAL were measured, and correlation analysis were used.6 of these dogs also have pathological contrast. Results:Above all the indexes, there are negative correlations existed between the CT value ratio and the areas under the peaks ratio(r=-0.743,P<0.01),also between CT value ratio and’H-MRS peaks ratio (r=-0.850,P<0.01).Compared with the pathology, the correlation coefficients were-0.943(P=0.005). 0.886(P=0.019)、0.943(P=0.005) respectively. Conclusions:Both CT and 1H-MRS have significant relationship with pathology, and are reliable methods for quan-titative detecting of fatty liver. In this experiment, the IDEAL water-fat separate technique have no obvious correlation with pathology and other imaging techniques.
