Objective To investigate the behavior of gastromyoelectric in patients with diabetic gastroparesis (DGP), the relationship of the prevalence of helicobacter pylori (H.pylori,Hp) and explore the effect of H.pylori in pathogenesis of diabetic gastro- paresis (DGP).Methods 60 patients with DGP were randomly chosen in this study.41 healthy volunteers were used as normal control .All the patients and volunteers underwent fasting and postprandialy electrogastrogram(EGG) examination, rapid urease test and 14C-UBT examination which were performed to diagnose H.pylori infection. The rates of H.pylori infection were compared between the patients with DGP and healthy volunteers. Patients with DGP were divided into two groups according to the result of the H.pylori infection( Hp negative group and Hp positive group), and the volunteers were also divided in the same way. Compared Electrogastro- grams among the four groups, the parameters of Electrogastrograms were analyzed. Rapid urease test and 14C-UBT examination were performed to diagnose H.pylori infection. Statistics method was to elect SPSS 16.0 software package to saving and handling data. Measurement data was demonstrated by x±s.Comparison of two groups used t-test and enumera- tion data used X2 test.Result1.The difference of H.pylori prevalence between the diabetics with gastroparesis and controls was significant (p<0.05), the diabetics with gastroparesis had a higher incidence of H.pylori than the controls, the difference was significant (p<0.05).2.Compared with control group, dominant Frequency (DF),DF in normal range (N%) before test meal and after test meal were obviously decreased(p<0.05),and postprandialy to fasting power ratio(PR) were obvioussly decreased(p<0.05),too.3. Compared between the Hp positive DGP group and the Hp negative DGP group, dominant Frequency (DF) after test meal in the Hp positive DGP group were obviously decreased(p<0.05),and postprandial to fasting power ratio(PR) were obviously dec- reased(p<0.05),too. Compared DF in normal range (N%) before test meal and after test meal, the difference was significant(p<0.05).4. Analyzed electrogastrographies of the Hp positive DGP group and healthy subjects, DF in normal range (N%) before test meal and after test meal, and post- prandialy to fasting power ratio(PR) between the two groups were different signi- ficantly(p<0.05). The difference of dominant Frequency (DF) before test meal and after test meal in the Hp positive DGP group was not significant, while in the Hp positive DGP group reverse.5. Analyzed electrogastrographies of the Hp negative DGP group and healthy subjects, DF in normal range (N%) before test meal and after test meal, and postprandialy to fasting power ratio(PR) between the two groups were different signi- ficantly(p<0.05). The difference of dominant Frequency (DF) before test meal and after test meal in the Hp positive DGP group was not significant, while in the Hp positive DGP group reverse.Conclusion1. Patients with DGP have abnormal preprandialy and postprandialy gastric myoelectrical activities, including the decrease of dominant Fre- quency (DF),DF in normal range (N%) and postprandialy to fasting power ratio(PR). Gastric dysmotility may play an important role in the Patho- genesis of DGP. Electrogastrogram can provide guide for diagnosis and therapy for DGP.2. The difference of H.pylori prevalence between diabetic gastro- paresis and healthy subjects was significant (p<0.05), and the diabetics with gastroparesis had a higher incidence of H.pylori than healthy subjects. The infection of H.pylori may be associated with diabetic gastroparesis.3. Eradication of H.pylori should be taken in patients with DGP.
