Abstract


CVT is one of the most important equipment in power system, it has great significant to find the internal defection for the safety operation of power system. Infrared imaging method is a untouched detection method, it can be used to diagnose the on-live equipment, has the character of intuition,safety and high efficiency.Based on fundamental infrared radiation knowledge , the infrared diagnosing technique and the imaging principle were derived. And in this paper, the problems of operation procedure, getting the thermal maps, the process and analysis of thermal maps and so on are researched when we use infrared imager to detect the CVT internal fault Finally, three practical engineering examples of the CVT internal defect detection with infrared method techniques are given in the paper, and find the internal fault, it verified feasibility and use value to diagnose the CVT internal defect detection by infrared thermal imaging technology.
