Objective: This study aims to analyze motor neuron disease (Motor neuron disease, MND) patients abductor muscle abductor pollicis brevis , extensor digitorum brevis and abductor hallucis volatility with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis functional score (ALS-FRS -R) relationship , to explore the clinical and electrophysiological function score correlation . Methods: Case collected in June 2010 to December 2010 in our hospital continuous nerve specialist inpatient and outpatient wards of 20 cases of MND patients, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, ALS) 8 cases of sexual spinal muscular atrophy (progressive spinal muscular atrophy, PSMA) 12 cases All patients were in the Second Affiliated Hospital , Zhejiang University School of Medicine Department of Neurology EMG room complete median nerve, ulnar nerve, peroneal nerve , tibial motor nerve conduction velocity (MCV) detection, median nerve, ulnar nerve, sural nerve , superficial peroneal nerve sensory nerve conduction velocity (SCV) detection: OK tibialis anterior muscle , the first dorsal interosseous muscle , sternocleidomastoid , T9 paraspinal muscle EMG quantitative measurement to confirm the diagnosis and to make abductor muscle , abductor pollicis brevis , extensor digitorum brevis and abductor hallucis muscle electrical diagram , the volatility of each muscle and ALS-FRS-R doing linear regression and correlation analysis . Results: abductor muscle amplitude and ALS-FRS-R was significantly associated , ALS patients with ALS-FRS-R correlations were more evident than PSMA . In ALS patients, extensor digitorum brevis volatility and ALS-FRS-R was significantly correlated , but in PSMA patients, no significant correlation between the two . Abductor hallucis volatility and ALS-FRS-R was significantly associated , PSMA patients with ALS-FRS-R correlation is more obvious than the ALS patients . Abductor pollicis brevis volatility and ALS-FRS-R was no significant correlation . Conclusion: EMG amplitude of each muscle can reflect the severity . In ALS patients, abductor muscle can be more sensitive to changes in volatility reflects the severity of the disease , early diagnosis of guidance ; while PSMA patients, abductor hallucis can be more sensitive to changes in volatility reflects the severity of the disease , guidance early clinical diagnosis.
