Objective plate internal fixation of fractures failed cases were retrospectively analyzed to enhance the understanding of the proper use of plates and screws , and improve the therapeutic effect . Of July 1997 to April 2009 were treated plate fixed treatment of fracture failure of the 47 cases cases for retrospective analysis and summary of the classification of errors , including steel screws loosening and fracture , the bone is not even or delayed healing plate exposure and other aspects of the analysis and find out why. Results of 18 cases of plate and screw breakage loose (4 patients with nonunion or delayed union ) , four cases of internal fixation devices wrong choice ( 1 patient with delayed bone healing ) , three cases reset poor ( 2 cases concomitant nonunion even which one cases a bone graft ), patients with early stage burden-sharing , the three cases is not a weight premature graft ( 1 patient with nonunion ) , mix one cases of the locking nail ordinary nail fails to principle , three cases insist anatomic reduction, three cases of DHS nail placement error ; 27 cases of nonunion or delayed union ( four cases concomitant plate and screw loosening or breakage ) , eight cases of fractures poor ( including one case the original trauma ) , anatomical reduction of the 14 cases were in force ( 1 cases the original trauma , one cases of equipment selection error) , two cases of internal fixation devices wrong choice , patients without a bone graft , weight premature cases were not correctly reset ; steel plate is exposed in the six cases , one cases of steel plate placed turnovers , four cases of wound infection , 1 patient with active tuberculosis original trauma . Conclusion 1 , should be based on the fracture site and typing , select internal fixation devices ; 2 , based on the performance of the internal fixation devices , the correct specification surgery operation; 3 , attaches great importance to the protection of the bone , the periosteum and soft tissue ; 4 , rehabilitation should be early , safe, secure , and not place undue reliance on internal fixation and the blind use of limbs .
