Objective:To investigate the comprehensive treatment’s clinical effect of weak detrusor contractility in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Methods:The clinical data and urodynamic data before and after treatment of BPH with weak detrusor contractility which confirmed by urodynamic studies were analyzed. The cases were divided into 2 groups depanding on the different treatment methods, the transurethral resection of the prostate group (A) and the comprehensive treatment group (the patients were given to drug and physical therapy after TURP, B). Not only compared the differences of every index of pretherapy with posttreatment of the 2 groups, such as the international prostate syndrome score (IPSS), quality of life score (QOL), the detrusor pressure (Pdet), the post void residual urine volume (PVR) and the maximum flow rate (Qmax), but also the differences of every index between the 2 groups, menanwhile, the statistic analysis was carried out. Result:(1) The IPSS score, QOL score, the PVR decreased and the Pdet, the Qmax improved compared with before treatment in the 2 groups(A, B), moreover, the difference were statistical significance (P<0.05). (2)There were no statistical difference of the IPSS score, QOL score, the Pdet, the Qmax and the PVR between the two groups pretherapy (P>0.05); after treatment 3 months, the IPSS score, QOL score, the Qmax and the PVR changed in the two groups, furthermore, the difference between the two groups were statistical significance (P>0.05).Although there was no statistical significance that the change of Pdet beween two groups, this study couldn’t explain to no difference posttreatment. Conclusions:For BPH patients with weak detrusor contractility, although their symptoms would have been improved after TURP, the degree of improvement was not more obvious than the comprehensive therapy group, therefore, in order to achieve the desired clinical effect and improve the quality of life, there needed to carry out physical and drug therapy.
