[Objective] To analyse treatment laws about Arthralgia Syndrome in ancient medicalcase,by way of using data mining technology such as clustering and association ru!es;To provide methodology guidance for medicalcase analysis and prestigious Chinese physicians" experience mining research through developing medicalcase research with data mining technology.[Methods] Collect ancient physicians’medicalcase about Arthralgia Syndrome,select 230 prescription at first visit,adopt frequency statistics analysis and clustering,association rules,use the SPSS and Weka data mining software and discuss treatment laws about Arthralgia Syndrome in ancient physicians" medicalcase.[Results] Frequency statistics analysis found that the primary medicine in ancient Arthralgia Syndrome medicalcase was Wind Damp Dispelling Drugs and Tonifying medicinal,followed by Diaphoretics,Antipyretics,blood-activating and stasis-dispelling medicinal and damp-draining diuretic,etc.Drugs with high frequency were Angelica,Cassia Twig,MulberryTwig,G.macrophylla,Coix,Tuckahoe,Achyranthes,Cocculus,Radix Angelicae Pubescentis,largehead atractylodes rhizome,donnell,papaya,divaricate saposhnikovia root, notopterygium, Erythrina Variegata,turmeric,etc.Clustering analysis get five group, related to hot and humid, wet turbidity,blood deficiency,blood hot and liver and kidney deficiency respectiely.Association rules obtained common medicine group in prescriptions,mainly including Qufeng Chushi,Qingre Qufeng,Chushi Qufeng,Sanhan Qufeng,Yiqi Yangxue, Buyiganshen,Yangxue Qufeng,Huoxue Huayu and Shujin Huoluo,etc. Clustering analysis for yip’s prescription get three group,reflected the yip’s therapeutic methods such as Xuantong Shire, Yangxue Qufeng and Yiqi Qufeng, but the lack that Clustering analysis cannot summarize yip’s treatment laws thoroughly was shown.[Conclusion] Data mining method applicable to TCM medicalcase study, can quantify and confirm TCM theory.Digging out commonly used medicines and application rule in Arthralgia Syndrome medicalcase, and then inferring the pathogenesis and clinical therapies provide demonstration for Clinical practice.Data mining is limited,therefore, combining domain knowledge driver and research inheritance,to develop medicalcase data mining and prestigious Chinese physicians" experience mining research bitterly,is needed.
