Abstract


Subacute thyroiditis is a self-limited viral infection thyroiditis. The main clinical manifestations is Thyroid gland ache and body temperature increased to varying degrees.Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and glucocorticoid are used to treat in western medicine.It is belonged to "gall disease ","gall tumors", "swollen galls"and other areas according to their clinical characteristics in Traditional Chinese medicine.It is believed that subacute thyroiditis is caused by environmental factors, emotional disorders and feelings of evils related.Professor RenPing engaged in the treatment of thyroid disease for more than 20 years,has had rich experiences in diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases. She is skilled in using traditional Chinese medicine to treat of subacute thyroiditis. Professor Ren Ping believes that this disease is caused by Qi stagnation and phlegm block and exogenous evils attacking .She divides it into syndrome of phlegm and heat intermingling and syndrome of both Qi and Yin deficiency. My teacher points out that using traditional Chinese medicine to treat of subacute thyroiditis can quickly relieve symptoms,shorten the disease process, reduce relapse and avoid side effects caused by long term use of medicine. It is easily accepted by patients and received good clinical effect.
