Effect of Qing Re Li Shi Yin in Treatment of Psoriasis Patients of Blood-Heat Syndrome Type and Its Impact on Peripheral Th1/Th2 Equilibrium

Abstract


Objective: To explore the mechanism of Qing Re Li Shi Yin in treating psoriasis of blood-heat syndrome type by observing its clinical efficacy and impacton on serum level of cytokines.Methods: The 70 psoriasis vulgaris of blood-heat type patients are put into two groups at random. The treatment group is given Qing Re Li Shi Yin (40 patients)and the matched group is given Fu Fang Qing Dai Wan(30 patients) respectively. The course of treatment is 8 weeks. Observe the PASI scores and improvement in symptoms and drug safety of the 2 groups before and after treatment; Serum levels of and TNF-α, IL-10 were de-tected of 24 patients by ELISA before and after treatment, and 20 normal controlswere tested also,acting as normal group.Results: Scores of PASI and syndrome all improved after treatment(P<0.05).The clinical markedly effective rate and the total effective rate of treatment group are all better than the matched group and statistical comparison showed that two are differences(P<0.05). And comparison of TNF-αlevel before and after treatment also showed significant difference (P<0.01), and that of IL-10 was significant, too(P<0.01).Conclusion: Qing Re Li Shi Yin can play its effect in treating psoriasis by way of reducing TNF-αleve and increaseing IL-10 level. Part mechanism May reduce the TNF-α/IL-10 ratio and adjust Th1/Th2 equilibrium.
