Abstract


As the changes of times, social progress and people life rhythm speeding up, everyone would have pressure. Nowadays junior middle school students seem to have suffered much pressure which doesn’t belong to them. Junior middle school students are facing more and more pressure which is heavy homework burdens, examinations, competitions from entering a higher school, the development of adolescent health, parents’ expectations and parenting styles, the confusion of making friends, network and strong influence of TV media. How to deal with these pressures affects junior middle school students’mental health directly. Schools, physiology, families, society and many other factors have an effect on their mental health comprehensively. Parenting styles as the main subject of family factors which are the vital importance of their healthy development affect junior middle school students’mental health.This study through documentary reference summarizes all previous researches, selects research scales, carries on questionnaire surveys and gets the collations of data selecting 581 junior middle school students from Tongliao. Completing the correlation task between the junior middle school students’coping styles and their parenting styles, we got the results,(1)When junior middle school students are in pressure, they take more positive coping styles.(2)Junior middle school students have different coping styles in gender, grades, personal academic achievement, from urban or rural areas, family economic status. But their coping styles have no concern in their nationalities and parents’marriage status.(3) Junior middle school students’parenting styles are different in gender, nationalities, grades, from urban or rural areas, family economic status, personal academic achievement. But their parents’marriage status is unconcerned on parenting styles.(4) Junior middle school students’parents’parenting styles have an effect on their coping styles. Mothers’understanding and care and parents’overprotection are benefit to form their positive coping styles. Mothers’excessive interference and fathers’upbringing affects their ways. Mother’s excessive interference and fathers’refusal disaffirm make junior middle school students form negative coping styles.(5) For the none-only-child, their mother’s preference has positive effects on junior middle school students’positive coping styles. Their fathers’over-punishment and preferences will affect their negative coping styles.
