Abstract

Solid waste fly ash filled modified polypropylene (PP) , is an important research direction for the use of fly ash with high added value , not only can improve the overall performance of the composite material can also reduce the cost of materials . Dispersion effect of fly ash was significantly improved after coupling agent and silane coupling agent modified titanate coupling agent ; acetone leaching modified fly ash surface there are still coupled the agents are characterized by peaks , indicating the presence of a bond between the coupling agent and fly ash aggregate ; coupling agent DB-550 and DB-792 can be uniformly coated in the fly ash surface , while the coupling agent of the cladding layer of the HC-TTS the surface is uneven phenomenon . The study of the mechanical properties of the modified fly ash the best filling particle size of 160-200 mesh modified before reduced to 200-300 mesh best filling quantity of fly ash can be modified before 15 % increase to 25% of the coupling agent can be effective in improving the affinity of the interface between the fly ash -PP ; coupling agent is best used in an amount of 1% of the fly ash . The rheological properties of studies have shown that with the increase of temperature and shear rate , the shear viscosity of PP and fly ash / PP composites showed a downward trend ; fly ash particle size is smaller , the shear viscosity of the composite lower ; when the filling amount of fly ash is 15% , the shear viscosity of the composite material is small ; when the coupling agent is used in an amount of 1 % , the shear viscosity of the composite material increases ; filled amount of fly ash in the modified 25%, the fluidity of the composite material are better. Scanning electron microscope studies have shown that unmodified fly ash makes the composite due to non-uniform dispersion phenomenon of stress concentration and cracking modified fly ash with PP more closely , and tensile rich cross section structure , stringing ; fly ash after filling , so that the melting peak of the composite material is shifted toward lower temperature , the melting peak of the composite material to high temperature offset , with the increase in the amount of modified fly ash filled ; small amount of fly ash can play to the role of heterogeneous nucleation , the filling amount of the increase will change the crystal morphology of PP ; composite infrared spectra of Si-O complex broad peaks of pure PP significantly weaken or even disappear , indicating that the modified powder chemically bonding occurred between the PFA and PP . In short, the fly ash modified by coupling agent can be a partial substitute PP, PP products at the same time does not reduce the PP performance , cost reduction .
