Abstract

Tibetlogy, it has become the international popular "famous school", and Khmas Studies as one of the Tibetan studies have become an important branch in recent years, with the "edge trend ncos". Therefore, in the current studies Khmas-Tibetlogy process of the construction of the system of review as its main academic foundation is the history of Khmas Studies is not only necessary, but also very urgent.This article hopes to play a complementary role of Tibetlogy history by studying the history of Khmas Studies. And considering the current limitations of the study of Tibetlogy history, this article seems to also can fill this field of academic blank paper lack of negativity, in some degree.This paper will be divided Khmas Studies into Cornwall germination, development, prosperity and atrophy, recovery, freshman six times. In addition to preface and conclusion outside, the text is divided into three chapters, with the foregoing staging of as a clue, since late Qing dynasty to contemporary, Khmas Studies’the research achievement, scholars, academic organizations are reviewed and commented, specifically, the first chapter about the origin and bud of Khmas Studies; The second chapter about its development and prosperity; The third chapter about its atrophy, recovery and resurrection.Through the comprehensive research of Khmas Studies and comment, this paper believes that Khmas Studies can be attributed to the academic characteristic for "inter-discipline" and "to practice". Especially "to practice" academic characteristic, it is not merely academic research and practice will be closely combining the question, in Khmas Studies and even the whole field of Tibetlogy, "to practice" means all studies have set out at the strong patriotism and the reality of the anti-secession against aggression and promote national cultural communication and ethnic relations harmonious desire, this one characteristic need even directly affecting the research development of Khmas Studies.Through summing up and reviewed the history of Khmas Studies, this paper holds that Khmas Studies still exist in the theoretical construction, experience and study deepness three aspects as short board. In the future, we should are targeted remedy and development, can really make Khmas Studies to move towards a new height.
