In China, most of the people who are involved in Internet addiction disorder, IAD, are teenagers. IAD is not only harmful to the physical and psychological growth of teenagers, but also brings suffering to their families, as well as causes many underlying issues to society. This research is aimed at revealing the influence of the self-concept on the IAD teenagers when they’re being addicted in internet, so as to provide theoretical and empirical evidence for the prevention and therapy of IAD.By investigating the middle school students who surf on line, this research compares the differences of three self-concepts (on line, on study, and parents’valuation at teenagers) on different stages (normal, being addicted, addicted). This research adopts group sampling and takes middle school students as the subjects. This research is done in two ways, one in questionnaire, the other in interview. The questionnaires used in this article includes: APIUS, SDQ-II, EMBU, and Self-evaluation questionnaire. Besides, this article also takes such statistical measures as, ANOVA, correlative analysis, regression analysis, and so on.The result indicts: 1) With the development of relying on internet, the teenagers’self-concept on internet is increasing, while the self-concept on study and parents’valuation are decreasing; 2) At the same time, the teenagers’three self-concepts have suffered a process from keeping balance to losing balance. That is, the development of IAD students’relying on internet is accompanying the development of their three self-concepts, while self-concept on study and parents’valuation are developing in the opposite way; 3) The tendency of IAD of teenagers is correlated with their self-concept on internet, self-concept on study and parents’valuation. Furthermore, this research also gets that self-concept on internet, self-concept on study and mother’s valuation can forecast IAD.
