Abstract


With the intensification of economic globalization , information technology and the rapid integration of urban and regional development in the country of growing importance , increasingly fierce competition between cities . Face of global competition brought about by double-edged sword , how to enhance the competitiveness of the city every city has become the hot issues need to be resolved . Foreign scholars in the 1990s began the urban competitiveness of research and exploration in recent years, some of our research institutions and the scholars of urban competitiveness is also conducted many useful research , combined with China 's actual situation and put forward their own theories and indicators . But until now, either abroad or at home, research on urban competitiveness does not have a mature , widely recognized by academics theories and evaluation index system of urban competitiveness research is still in exploration and practice . This paper first describes the research background of urban competitiveness , research on the importance of urban competitiveness are discussed , the connotation of urban competitiveness were analyzed , expounded the essence of urban competitiveness . Secondly, and summarized knowledge city competitiveness at home and abroad , raised questions about the concept of urban competitiveness . After studying the theory of urban competitiveness at home and abroad , scholars from home and abroad on the basis of the research results , based on indicators of construction principle , the use of a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis , normative analysis and empirical analysis of both research methods, evaluation of constructed urban competitiveness indicators. Again , this article using SPSS software , according to the constructed index system, using factor analysis, the city in Hebei Province in 2006 to evaluate the level of competitiveness , on this basis , the use of cluster analysis, the level of competitiveness city in Hebei province to classify . Finally, the combination of Hebei urban competitiveness of the actual situation , put forward to enhance the competitiveness of cities in Hebei Province basic countermeasures .
