Abstract

Today, the developed countries, urbanization is basically completed, while the developing countries are entering the middle stage of rapid urbanization, the urbanization in accelerating the pace of development. In accordance with the law of the development of urbanization, China is already in the mid-stage of urbanization, the next 20-30 years, the urbanization in China will continue to maintain a rapid pace of development. Urban and rural areas as two different space vector carrying human life and production activities, natural resources, especially the consumption of energy resources have differences on the nature and number of the city's per capita energy consumption is much higher than the per capita energy consumption in rural areas. Highlights of China's energy supply and demand as the major powers of the world energy consumption has become an important constraint for China's rapid urbanization process, and how to coordinate the relationship between urbanization and energy consumption to a growing concern. This article is based on the theory of the development of urbanization, from the relationship between the level of urbanization and energy consumption, and to reveal the mechanism of the impact of urbanization on energy consumption on the basis of a nonlinear smooth transition regression STR model of urbanization on energy consumption describe the nonlinear effects, to identify the energy consumption characteristics of China's urbanization process, findings: 1. urbanization in China is not only experienced a long, winding, undulating road of development, and there are regional differences in the development of urbanization, presents increasing trend from west to east. 2 different periods of the urbanization level of development of the energy. In the mid of urbanization in China, the urbanization rate of energy consumption not only with the current effects, also has a cumulative effect. With the increasing levels of urbanization, the growth rate of the level of urbanization in order to further improve the pay energy costs increasing. Beginning in 1961, changes in the growth rate of Chinese urbanization bring the increasingly rapid growth of energy consumption, the future growth trend will be maintained. Prior to 1983, the energy consumption brought about by changes in urbanization growth accelerated after 1983, the growth in energy consumption has slowed. 4. Urbanization has led to the production of energy and life energy consumption while increasing. Accelerated urbanization on energy consumption is mainly due to the heavy industrialization of China's industrial, technological advances partially offset this accelerated. Finally, in light of these conclusions, the development road of China's future urbanization of the healthy development of the recommendations, including: compliance with the law of the development of urbanization, to maintain a reasonably modest growth rate of urbanization, adjust the structure of energy consumption and improve energy efficiency.
