Abstract


As a concept, the workflow technology is used in the field of Image Processing and Document management. Workflow technology describes the business process by the computer system. With the development of the Network, Database and distributed calculating, workflow technology received extensive attentions.Workflow Management Software is a system to complete the process Modeling and Management. In order to raise the level of application and efficiency, it integrates with other enterprise’s application software.The contents of this thesis attach to the 863 project Integration of the software. The project is belonging to the group of distributed technology in the High Performance Computing Center, Institute of Computing Technology, and Chinese Academy of Science. The project is to use the workflow technology to solve the problem of distributed scientific computing applications and management under the cluster environment.As an implementation technique of the business process, the workflow management required to express the several questions. What is business process, how to do it, who should be doing and how did it go. It also be required when it been used in the domain of Scientific computing [1].(1) What is the Calculate process? It composed with what kind of activities and tasks? How to define the structure?(2) How to do it? What kinds of the implement conditions, rules and mutual information between activities. It also means the definition of the control-flow and information-flow.(3)Who is going to do? Human beings or computer applications, how to define the organizational roles?(4) How is it going? The workflow management system has the function to monitor the implementations.This thesis focuses on several problems which we have mentioned above, and considers with the practical needs. Use the ECA rule-based and formal UML activity diagram to comply the system modeling and functions.
