Nowdays, China is experiencing a period of entrepreneurship. Start-ups is not only a crucial stage of entrepreneurial process, but also the stage in which entrepreneurs can best play a subjective role. The performance of Start-ups is a direct decisive factor to the enterprise survival and development. How to maintain the entrepreneurial passion, dealing with entrepreneurial pressures and cultivate entrepreneurial commitment, has become important but rather difficult issues faced with lots of entrepreneurs in the exploration of new business start-ups. Till now, very few empirical studies have examined the impact on the business performance from entrepreneurial stress and entrepreneurial commitment which are the two important psychological attitude of entrepreneurs. So this thesis intensively researched the relationship among the performance of Start-ups, the entrepreneurial stress and entrepreneurial commitment of entrepreneurs with a psychological perspective.This thesis firstly conducted a systematic review on the former literature, and then made a detailed research on 8 entrepreneurs and their Start-ups followed by a comprehensive case study, and thus the initial idea and theoretical hypotheses of this study was verified and amended; Secondly, this thesis conducted a questionnaire research and statistical analysis on a sample of 139 start-ups to further validate the amended conceptual framework and theoretical hypotheses. The main conclusions of this thesis are as follows:1. In the context of Chinese culture, the six-dimensional structure of entrepreneurial stressor (entrepreneurial involvement, competition intensity, resource demand, knowledge storage, managerial responsibility and achievement need), the three-dimensional structure of entrepreneurial commitment (sustained commitment, behavioral commitment and affective commitment), and the three-dimensional structure of entrepreneurial performance (live performance, growth performance and development performance) are approved by this study.2. It will be more meaningful to break down the impact on entrepreneurial commitment and entrepreneurial performance from entrepreneurial stress to specific dimensions. "Resource demand" has a negative effect on "entrepreneurial performance", while "knowledge storage" and "achievements need" have positive effects on "entrepreneurial performance". The three-dimensional stressors, entrepreneurial involvement, knowledge storage and achievement need, have positive impact on entrepreneurial commitment.3. Entrepreneurial commitment has significant role in promoting entrepreneurial performance. To be specific, sustained commitment, behavioral commitment and affective commitment are all have significant role in promoting entrepreneurial performance.4. Entrepreneurial commitment has a certain intermediary role to the relationship between entrepreneurial stress and entrepreneurial performance, that is, entrepreneurial stress can creating an impact on entrepreneurial performance through entrepreneurial commitment. A part of affected "black box" from entrepreneurial stress to entrepreneurial commitment was opened.At last, the study results were discussed, as well as the contribution to theory and entrepreneurial practice, the limitation of this research and the direction for future research.
