Abstract


The widely use of digital information resource is making the problem of long-term preservation and long-term utilization of digital resource a more important issue for people to face. How to have a safe long-term preservation of digital resource, and ensure effective retrieval, access and use of that as well? Many country’s library and related organizations have started research projects and obtained some achievements, especially developed some long-term preservation and long-term utilization of digital resource strategies. These strategies are becoming guidelines and protection of long-term preservation and long-term utilization of digital resource.Long-term preservation and long-term utilization of digital resource is a complex issue, for it is including management, technique, law and many other aspects, referring government, education, science and many other fields and departments. And in various stages of planning and implementation over the program, it is likely to encounter many difficulties. As a result, an appropriate long-term preservation and long-term utilization of digital resource strategy is crucial for solving problems and overcoming difficulties, and of great importance to carry out this program.This thesis gives detailed introduction of the concept, content, features and function of long-term preservation and long-term utilization of digital resource. And in accordance with the difference of management organization, separately from three different levels: global, national and social organizations, chooses the UNESCO "Guidelines for the Preservation of Digital Heritage", DPC (Digital Preservation Coalition) "Preservation Management of Digital Materials:The Handbook" and ARTstor Digital Library as the typical research objects of long-term preservation and long-term utilization of digital resource strategy. According to the analysis and research of these long-term preservation and long-term utilization of digital resource strategies, compares the differences and similarities of the solutions that these strategies use. In the management area, this thesis discusses the strategy’s content, responsibility and partner, the selection and acquisition of digital information resource. In the technique area, discusses the preservation and label of digital information resource, the protection of digital information resource, and maintaining the access of digital information resource. In the law area, discusses the protection of intellectual property and privacy. It also introduces and discusses the specific approaches and skills in this process. Aims to seek effective ideas and approaches to solve practical problems from an empirical point of view, and to learn experiences from other countries. Only take the measures above can we promoting the building and consummating the long-term preservation and long-term utilization of digital resource strategy of our own.
