With the growing of organic pollution of water, the effective removal of organic pollutants has been hot and difficult problems of research in the industry. Activated carbon in the removal of organic pollutants widely used, but there is often adsorbed low. Therefore, how to improve the activated carbon adsorption in addition to pollution efficiency savings dosage, activated carbon further use need to be focused on solving the problem. The surface properties of the activated carbon to determine its adsorption capacity of organic. By modification treatment of activated carbon, it is possible to a certain extent, to change its surface structure, and enhance its adsorption capacity. In this paper, phenol representative organics static adsorption compared by laboratory experiments, study of potassium permanganate modification of the role of activated carbon in addition to the effect of pollution. The experimental results show that the activated carbon after potassium permanganate modified, activated carbon adsorption capacity of phenol significantly improve the removal rate can be increased by 20% or more. Potassium permanganate on activated carbon modified process largely changed the adsorption capacity of the activated carbon, but does not change the nature of the activated carbon adsorption. Comparative experimental results show that ordinary activated carbon adsorption time, temperature, the amount of granular activated carbon, the initial concentration of phenol wastewater, pH values, and other factors that could affect the modification of granular activated carbon adsorption effect of phenol, and the impact of the law and has not changed activated carbon of sexual processing results are similar. But the potassium permanganate modification treatment, the adsorption capacity of the activated carbon is significantly enhanced, the same adsorption capacity is reached under the same conditions, the modified activated carbon than ordinary unmodified carbon dosage significantly reduced, to a certain extent to reduce economic costs. The role of activated carbon, potassium permanganate is subject to both reactions, the dosage, and both the role of the influence of time. Within the scope of the study, the Modified Activated Carbon Pollution Removal efficiency increased with the increase in the amount of potassium permanganate dosing, the removal rate reached a peak when the dosage of potassium permanganate to a certain extent, continue to increase investment and increase the amount of phenol removal rate decreased. , Potassium permanganate and the role of activated carbon in the case of the same time is longer, the higher the removal efficiency of the activated carbon after treatment of phenol, but to 90min after the action time of the two, the degree of influence of the reaction time is relatively slow. Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm more in line with the Langmuir type adsorption, activated carbon adsorption of phenol.
