Sport serves as a significant symbol of the evolvement of human society and civilization as well as an important manifestation of social civilization and comprehensive national strength. The Beijing Olympic Games are an ever-lasting monument in the history of Chinese sports, with our country being the host, demonstrating to the whole world the genuine strength of china as a big country leading in the sports field. Surely, the unprecedented and splendid achievements obtained by our athletes in the Beijing Olympic Games have vigorously pushed our power in athletic sports a big stride forward. But the number of gold medals obtained can never be equivalent of the definition of a country powerful in the sports field. China still remains a big country as regards sports given the fact that there’s still a certain distance from being a truly powerful country in sports field whose well-balanced athletic sports, mass sports and sports industry as well as the evident advantage in elementary events and collective events can be achieved.《Journal of Sports Sciences》is an England-based sports journal collected in SSC, and ranks second in the international sports field, according to A core overview journal of foreign human and social science.In the 2008 report, it occupies a pivotal position in the academia concerning international sports with its influential element high at about 1.625. These words touch the athletic sports, mass sports and the sports industry.(3)The prolific countries publishing articles on the《Journal of Sports Sciences》from the year 2000 to 2009 ranking in the leading four places are Britain, Australia, America and France. Special attention should be paid to these countries and regions: Span, Finland, America, Welsh, Switzerland, Scotland. All this demonstrates the great imbalance in the science nad research study in international sports field. Developed countries account for a great majority while the less-developing countris still lack the voice dominance in this field.
