Abstract

Toni Morrison concerned about black women deeply, especially concerned about their physical condition.The bodies didn’t belong to them who truned up in the novels, and didn’t belong to pleasant, the body in her novels turned up obscurely but was suppressed by looming violence and soft violence. how to restore the body?I am trying to view body as a breakthrough and the white and black anti-disciplinary discipline for the clues, summarizing the state of black women’s bodies, using Foucault’s theory of the body, concentrating Morrison’s novel, which showed how the body was suppressed? According to this record of events on the body, it revealed the truth that the body was suppressed, finding the body should be restored, and then construct the Toni Morrison novel genealogy of black female body.Text is divided into three chapters, the first chapter shows the power is inscribed in the physical world:the first part named with "black-white body fight",showing a true state of black female body:faced with violent publishment, Black women used the body as a tool against the discipline of the whites and black;faced with wild publishment, they think white bodies as beauty.The black body penetrate in the white, and gradually withdraw this color war. There are two different white physical disciplines, which showed the true state of the black body. SectionⅡis based on the clues of the fall of the black body,analysed the punishment that the black male body and aimed at the black female body when the black male body adominished the white body. At last,they lost themselves and carried the descipline of the black man body. In the gender relations of black bodies, this discipline on the body was still exist,and black women’s bodies were filled with sexual desire.Despite the sexual desire of the black female body is no longer passive as it was in the age of sexual slavery, true love was replaced by sexual desire. The second chapter discusses the "nature" as a political issue using the attitude of black female body for "sexual" to express their position on the injustice of the body’s counterattack. SectionⅠof "sexual promiscuity," and physical isolation for the two different aspects of showing black women "sex" as a weapon to fight the initiative in their own bodies. Although such a bold act demonstrates the charm of a black woman, the body is overhead and the body is only a tool to be used. The body has become politicized means and they resisted to the disciplinary body using the body as a proof and a presence, physically dominated, but this way of body resistance eventually fell into deep loneliness. Body is contradictory, on one hand,the body is a kind of existence, and existence is physical presence at first. On the other hand,they use the body to achieve political purposes, only can make the body lonely again. SectionⅡ"of escape" for the subject and body ownership, "of escape" shows a black woman’s refusal of sex by refusing so as to achieve control of the body and exclude the authority of the male out of the body. Although this behavior can make women’s body have a consciousness to some extent, this complete isolation from the "sex" means that the body was placed in an empty position and the body became a spiritual utopia. Whether it is "awash" or "of escape", both use the body to do transactions.As a result,the injury is always the body. The third chapter is the above analysis of the state of the black body to build black female bodies genealogy. SectionⅠis the materialization of the body, showing the body in the history of the inscription in the process of being materialized. Black body is the discipline for the production of tools and reproductive tool, they do not have their own voice. This phenomena was reflected intensively in Morrison’s works.SectionⅡis the symbolic body. Black body went through external discipline and self-development,and it gradually became a symbol. Finally, it lost its meaning. SectionⅢis a heterogeneous body. The body of heterogeneity does not have its own voice and completely reduced to his physical person. The black body is a clue in Morrison’s whole works context.
