The rapid development of the Internet and widely available , so that it is closely related with people's daily lives . In order to meet customer needs , new types of network applications and network services , emerging , and rapid development . However, with the rapid growth of the network traffic , network congestion problems recurring serious impact on the performance of the network . Therefore, the implementation of the congestion control to guarantee the stable operation of the network and improve the quality of service of the network , a very important role . The main use of the Internet today is the TCP / IP protocol , network traffic also become a hot research and focus mainly TCP flows using TCP end - to - end congestion control method using IP router congestion control method . Active queue management techniques using packet loss to respond positively to the congestion , and to reduce the resources allocated inequities , improve service quality and stability of the network , to achieve remission and congestion avoidance purposes , is the most important means of congestion control . A good active queue management algorithm not only can reduce the packet loss rate , improve throughput , and to make a good prediction of the congestion status at the same time , to ensure the overall performance of the network . Through research and analysis of active queue management algorithm RED algorithm , the introduction of a similar \the logistic equation RED improved algorithm . The experiments show that the algorithm in terms of packet loss rate compared with the RED algorithm reduces about 28 % , about 9 % compared with the nonlinear RED algorithm ; significant improvement in throughput , especially in the network stability prominent progress .
