Abstract


Theory of Industrial clusters was put forward by Professor Michael E Porter, a famous strategy administrator. In special locations, Industrial clusters composed of centralized and related, such as professional suppliers, service providers, financial institutions, correlative manufacturers and other related organizations have cooperative and competitive relation, it takes on quite strong competitiveness. In recent years, industrial clusters have played more and more important roles in regional and even global economic development worldwide, and industrial clusters have been one of the most important economic organizations in current world economy.It is necessary to start research on the shipbuilding industrial clusters since the shipbuilding industry in our China has concentrated in some regions and the phenomenon of clustering is emerging. The Yangtze River Delta is one of the most important shipbuilding bases in China, and represents the comprehensive strength of Chinese shipbuilding industry. The research and promotion on shipbuilding industrial clusters in Yangtze River Delta is not only an inevitable choice to achieve goals of Chinese shipbuilding industry, but also an important way to push the economy development of Yangtze River Delta continuously.Based on theories of industrial cluster and economies, this paper studied on the shipbuilding industrial clusters in Yangtze River Delta, both theoretically and empirically. Firstly the paper introduced the basic cluster theories and discussed the meaning, constitute and characteristic of shipbuilding industrial clusters; And then based on game theory, this paper analyzed the formation and development of shipbuilding industrial cluster; The lifecycle of shipbuilding cluster is also discussed; Secondly, after the analyzing of the examples of successful shipbuilding industry clusters in Japan and Korea, this paper analyzed the status of shipbuilding industry in china especially the Yangtze River Delta by means of statistical methods; At last, this paper proposed some suggestions to develop the shipbuilding industrial cluster in Yangtze River Delta further.
