Abstract


Over the years, the satellite network as a separate entity, generally do not connect with the outside world, especially the Internet, so their security is relatively easy, but the Internet-connected satellite network makes this situation no longer exists, and the safety has also become the biggest obstacle to development of satellite networks.In this paper, analyze the Internet-connected satellite network security threats, review their security needs and propose layered security scheme for the structural characteristics of satellite networks. The security scheme is based on public key infrastructure, including secure communications between network operations control center and satellites, secure communications between satellite and satellites, secure communications between gateways and satellites and secure communications between terrestrial gateways and network users and other related methods. Corresponding different environmental characteristics, this paper designed the different security methods.Satellite network for the high delay and high error rate, the traditional way of authentication and key agreement was modified to reduce the communication cycle, this paper proved that the method can effectively improve the satellite network authentication and key agreement time performance.The change the satellite network topology make satellite gateway is not always within the same satellite. I broke the concept of gateway within a satellite domain, all the satellite nodes can be a certificate for the gateway, and the ground gateway only holds a certificate. While using a distributed update the certificate method, which not only can easily update the ground gateway certificate, but also can improve stability and availability of satellite network for certificate update.Finally, to verify the availability of the schemes, a program was implemented and tested a number of performance data.
