Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Huo Xue Zhi Tong tincture phoresis treatment of knee osteoarthritis, in order to explore the mechanism of Huo Xue Zhi Tong tincture, providing a theoretical and experimental basis for clinical use.Method:80 cases of single knee osteoarthritis patients who were stagnated by cold hygrosis were divided randomly into the control group and the treatment group, each group has 40 cases, the treatment group was treated with Huo Xue Zhi Tong tincture while the control group with Diclofenac Diethylamine Emulgel。Both groups were administered by the Intermediate Frequency, Once a day, four weeks is a course of treatment.. Pretreatment and treatment after two weeks, the two groups were observed and recorded the levels of serum matrix metalloprotease-land matrix metalloprotease-3, the VAS score and WOMAC index, Statistic and analysis to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Huo Xue Zhi Tong tincture which was used to cure the knee osteoarthritis。Results:Huo Xue Zhi Tong tincture can effectively reduce the patients’ levels of serum matrix metalloprotease-land matrix metalloprotease-3, WOMAC index and VAS score, comparing to pretreatment of treatment group have statistic difference (P<0.01)。Treatment group and control group after treatment compared, the affects of Huo Xue Zhi Tong tincture to the levels of serum matrix metalloprotease-3 and VAS score there was no statistical significance, but to the levels of serum matrix metal loprotease-1 and WOMAC index there were significances in statistics (P<0.05)。Conclusion:Both Huo Xue Zhi Tong tincture and Diclofenac Diethylamine Emulgel can reduce the Knee osteoarthritis patients’symptoms, reduce the levels of serum matrix metalloprotease-land matrix metalloprotease-3, VAS score and WOMAC index。But, the effectiveness of reducing the levels of serum matrix metalloprotease-1 and WOMAC index, Huo Xue Zhi Tong tincture was better than Diclofenac Diethylamine Emulgel, and Huo Xue Zhi Tong tincture’clinical use is safe, deserves the clinical generalization。
