Abstract


With the rapid development of computer network technology and the vigorous promotion of informationization, web has become the world’s largest and most important information resource library. But the information for the different applications is stored in different data source, the data content and formats vary widely. As a semi-structured data, XML has been widely used in Internet for data representation, data exchange and data transmission because of its good portability and scalability. In contrast with the data of traditional relational databases, XML has considerable flexibility in data representation, rather than relational data which has an unified data schema. Therefore, it has become a research hotspot on how to transform XML data into relational data.In this paper, XML data source has been wrapped in the background of the integration of heterogeneous data source information. Through out the implementation of XML schema and relational schema mapping, it has been reached a good balance between query efficiency and data redundancy. Besides, the study support metadata extraction and SQL query translation so as to implement transparent operation for the XML data source user. At last, the study has established an interface specification between relational schema and XML schema initially, unified the mode of operation among heterogeneous data sources.
