Abstract


OLAP technology widely used in data warehousing, decision support , and database system is increasing execution engine query efficiency requirements , proposed a new database system design concept that is as basic storage units column store database system . This article first column store database systems with line memory database system on the storage structure , the query efficiency comparison, draw a column store database system is superior to the conclusion of the line memory database system on the efficiency of query execution . Study the appropriateness of using column store database system dictionary coding , run-length encoding and bit-vector encoding compression technology . By analyzing the characteristics of the query process different attribute columns connected in timing , research the materialized technology column store database query efficiency impact, and further research to take the direct access to the compressed state data strategies affect the performance of the database system . ' Combination of column store database system with sparse data characteristics , this paper presents the point of view of a column store database system suitable for storing sparse data , given the sparse database design . Scene through the application of the sparse data , analyze the structural features of the sparse data storage , given the sparse database common data model . Finally, this paper focuses on the dictionary coding Lempel- Ziv compression algorithm , analyze and compare two branch algorithm LZ77 and LZ78 their advantages and disadvantages , an improved algorithm based on LZ77 and LZ78 algorithm , in order to take advantage of the two respective the advantages to improve the performance of the algorithm . And then through the experiment , the improved algorithm in compression ratio and compression time , the the draw improved algorithm in the overall performance is better than LZ77 and LZ78 and LZ77 and LZ78 algorithm .
