Abstract


Extensible markup language ( XML ) is a widely used document data format standards, it is independent of any computer language and architecture . Created using the XML standard data can be read by any application on any platform , a platform-independent data representation method , widely used in electronic data interchange , Web exchange data , vector graphics , and remote procedure call . Parse links is an important element of XML processing . XML parsing is a way to extract XML document elements, attributes, and content , and then use this information to do further . For those applications that need to handle large amounts of data , this technique is particularly important. Select the appropriate analytical techniques has a greater impact on the performance of the application systems , inappropriate resolve will lead to excessive memory consumption and long processing time , which greatly affect the overall system performance . XML data redundancy inherent characteristics , making parsing XML documents much a part of the consideration of the application . Software-based XML parsing method has become increasingly difficult to meet the needs of application development . To find a suitable analytical processing model , and the hardware circuit XML parser is a feasible direction to solve the problem . This paper analyzes the XML document parsing process , existing XML parsing methods streaming , access and the ability to modify and hardware acceleration capabilities horizontal comparison analysis pointed out that the VTD-XML analytical model as the advantage of the hardware analytical model . By analyzing the working mechanism of the VTD-XML analytical model , further from parallelization and data compression processing to further improvement of the analytical process . XML hardware parser have a certain analytic functions on the FPGA system , all hardware modules using Verilog hardware description language development . On the Nios II soft-core technology to build system - on - chip to achieve a specific document parsed node query function , simulation and test results show that the design meets the design requirements .
