Low power consumption , simple the mirror interference and structural advantages , the active mixers direct downconversion receiver design has become the first choice . However , the linearity active mixer vulnerable to the severe impact of the second-order intermodulation distortion , which is highly integrated direct down conversion receiver design key issues . In general, in a CMOS 0.18μm process , well-designed direct downconverting active mixer can reach up to about 55dBm IIP2 performance . Under the GSM standard , the input of the receiver typical IIP2 requirements about 50dBm , it is assumed that the previous stage LNA can provide 20dB of gain , is converted to the input terminal of the mixer , the need to achieve the minimum the IIP2 value is 70dBm . Used to suppress the second-order intermodulation distortion technology can be divided into circuit techniques and calibration techniques . The former includes the common-mode feedback , LC circuit , RC degradation , to reduce weakened a second-order intermodulation characteristics of the circuit . The latter introduces a useful concept that direct removal of the distortion components , and related technologies have been widely used in the actual product . The main work of this article is : First, learn from the authoritative paper presents the model for the impact of the second-order intermodulation effect of various factors , theoretically complete quantitative analysis for each factor ; Secondly , according to the aforementioned circuit technology and manual calibration techniques , the design of the actual circuit simulation to verify the effectiveness of the various technologies ; Finally, the study of the theoretical basis of various adaptive calibration technique , starting from the system simulation to verify the adaptive calibration technique . IBM 0.18um CMOS process used in circuit simulation , system simulation using Matlab Simulink, circuit simulation and system simulation conditions GSM900 receiver communication standards .
