Abstract

Somatosensory evoked potentials (Somatosensory Evoked Potential; SEP) electrophysiological responses of the nervous system to the outside world somatosensory stimulation may reflect the integrity of the spinal cord and central nervous system function , which is used in intraoperative spinal cord monitoring . Clinical practice , SEP detection by the impact of a variety of noise sources , the signal-to-noise ratio is very low , generally requires the use of coherent averaging superimposed technology to pick up their information . This method is time-consuming and may delay the diagnosis of spinal cord injury , resulting in patients with irreversible neurological impairment . It is necessary to study the somatosensory evoked potential fast picking technique . This study combines adaptive filtering and neural network technology , a complex adaptive filter . Grade adaptive noise cancellation the composite adaptive filter before as a pre-filtering , as much as possible to improve the signal-to-noise ratio ; stage utilizes the radial basis function neural networks for signal fitting extract the SEP signal characteristics . On this basis , the present study different experimental studies : quantitative analysis simulation not only mention of composite adaptive filter on SEP template signal ; but clinical animal experiments the method is verified on the actual SEP signal extraction sex . Meanwhile , the results of animal experiments confirmed that the method is faster than the average stacking technique manifestation of spinal cord injury . The composite adaptive filter in order to further develop the application of clinical research , we also build a set based on field programmable gate array (FPGA) , real-time signal processing systems , and on the platform . The experiments show that FPGA-based composite adaptive filter can achieve the extraction of SEP .
