Abstract


Five-character regulated verse was been an import position in Tang Dynasty for that it was the carrier of poetry in provincial examination. The five-character regulated verse was developed by the imperial examination.Though analyzed the 2377 five-character regulated verse which were written by 241 poet, the conclusion have been reached that the Early-Tang Dynasty was the period of explore and finalize the design of five-character regulated verse; then the High-Tang Dynasty was the period of development and consolidation, and the five-character regulated verse was matured by Dufu; in Mid-Tang Dynasty the five-character regulated verse had produced a new change; and in Late-Tang Dynasty it had gone back to fogyism.In the aspect of art of antithesis, the mode of antithesis was ripe gradually in the period of the Early-Tang Dynasty and the High-Tang Dynasty, and various kinds form of antithesis had appeared and developed; and in Mid-Tang and Late-Tang Dynasty it gone to exquisite, the style of over polish was in vogue.By the way of including the topic contents, it showed that court poetry is the mainstream in Early-Tang Dynasty, but also involved other subject matters; in High-Tang Dynasty, the five-character regulated verse have been further developed, all manner of subject matters were going to ripening; in Mid-Tang Dynasty it turn to express personal life in introverted way; in Late-Tang Dynasty it had many more poetry of chanting things and lyric.
