Research on Components and Influencing Factors of Junior Students’ English Study Self Efficacy

Abstract


This research constructs the theoretical frame of Junior Students’English Study Self Efficacy. The researcher interviewed 20 cases and analyzed the voice data by Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR)-Analysis-Skill of qualitative research method. In conclusion, we find the main constitute factors and some important effect factors of Junior Students’English Study Self Efficacy.On the constitute of Junior Students’English Study Self Efficacy, we find seven main factors:confidence of English learning behavior(Typical; 16/20 cases); confidence of self-aptitude(Typical; 11/20 cases); confidence of English learning ability(Variant; 8/20 cases); confidence of academic performance(Variant; 8/20 cases); confidence of English learning method(Variant; 7/20 cases); confidence of coping with English learning difficulties(Variant; 5/20 cases) and confidence of English learning volition(Rare; 4/20 cases).On the effect factors, we find four systems which can influence Junior Students’ English Study Self Efficacy:The first system is named student’s personal traits, it contains four factors: gender(Variant; 8/20 cases); interesting of English learning(Typical; 11/20 cases); ability and aptitude(Variant; 6/20 cases); emotion statues(Rare; 3/20 cases).The second system is named personality traits, it contains four factors: calm-active(Variant; 5/20 cases); initiative-passive(Variant; 5/20 cases); optimistic-pessimistic(Variant;5/20 cases)and nervous-relax(Rare; 3/20 cases).The third system is named important living experience, it contains to aspects:the first aspects is the success\fail experience of learning performance(Typical;5/20 cases); the second aspects is the living experience in country\city\overseas(Variant;8/20 cases).The fourth system is named interpersonal interactive between important persons, this system contains five factors:the education level and vocational style of parents(Variant; 6/20 cases); family education style(Rare; 3/20 cases); influence of teachers(Typical; 12/20 cases); evaluate and feedback of others (Variant; 9/20 cases)and the perception of English learning difficulties(Rare; 3/20 cases).
