Abstract


As an important dynasty in the history of China ,the Northern Song Dynasty built an integrated country through ending the separatist and chaos situation in late-Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties, though it had a small scale country than that of Tang Dynasty. The Northern Song Dynasty was a carrying on the task dynasty and made a great progress in its politics, economy ,military and culture ,etc..Damingfu of the Northern Song Dynasty which was called Weizhou in pre-Tang Dynasty,was renamed by TianYue who was the official in Weizhou at that time. From then on , Damingfu was gradually becoming the first strategic post in three towns of Hubei region.The successive emperors paid much more attentions to it,the appoints of its officials was become more important.The article includes three parts , the first which describes the geographic changes and the developing strong process in Damingfu.It introduces Damingfu’s district change and postion from Tang end and Five Dynasties and the Northern Song Dynasty two stages. Damingfu had been the most important strategic place in the northern of the Yellow River which was through more than 100 years development by Tang end.During Five Dynasties, Damingfu still obtained the value by every Emperors of Five Dynasties and became the Provisional Capital of the other four dynasty except the later Liang Dynasty. Damingfu continued to develop during the Northern Song Dynasty.It was built secondary capital(Beijing or the northern Capital) in the second year of Qingli. Not only it was economic development, its military status was important,but also it became the political center of the northern local.The second part studies on the officials of Damingfu.It studies the several questions through the selection standard, the civil and general proportion , the characteristic of terms of service, etc.of Damingfu’s officials.The selection of the Damingfu’s officials was named by the Emperors,because Damingfu was an important town.The Damingfu’s officials had the different community characteristics in different period: the predecessor old feudal officials of Five Dynasty,the Emperor’s relatives,the Suilongren and the high-ranking court officials in Royal government. The military officers was more than the civil officials during the Northern Song Dynasty earlier period. The military officers hadn’t been the Damingfu’s officials after the Yingzong Emperor.About the characteristic on the term of service: the term of service was long on the Damingfu’s officials in Taizu,Yingzong and Shenzong, and which was short in Zhenzong and Qinzong period because there were more wars in those times.We investigates its reason of the term of service which had the enormous relation with the wars, the political factors and individual situations.The third which studies the functions and characters of Damingfu officials by introducing their achievements on governing the Yellow River, being bnefical to people through good policies,military defenses etc. .
