Abstract


Set in the political, ideological-driven social background, the "art of Cultural Revolution" is the art "for politics" under the special literature and art system and the concentration of politics and culture in a specific period. The "art of Cultural Revolution" is a performing program oriented from political connotation and ideology:the main content is a tribute to Mao Zedong and the peasants and soldiers; "three aspects of prominence "works as its creation principle;"red, light, bright" and "high, large and comprehensive" acts as the basic character. Therefore, "art of Cultural Revolution" is largely a graphic image of the policy. The relationship between "political" and "art", specifically the influence of political essence to art form constitutes theme of "art of Cultural Revolution".This paper consists of four parts; the first chapter outlined the historical development of "Cultural Revolution" and the "art of Cultural Revolution". The second chapter focuses on the representative types of the "art of Cultural Revolution". The third chapter is an analysis of the image features of the "art of Cultural Revolution". The fourth chapter focuses on the interpretation of its political essence and makes a briefly reflection to the "art of Cultural Revolution".
