Ca 2 sup> is a cellular signal transduction important second messenger , almost all physiological activities are subject to Ca 2 sup> regulation . Calcium oscillations are excitable cells and non- excitable cells cytoplasmic free calcium ions in a popular form of exercise . Calcium oscillation frequency, amplitude , time- equivalent feature encoding the calcium signaling specificity. Receptors caused by the surface of calcium oscillations in single cells and cells at different time points of the frequency and amplitude are different , resulting in stimulation waveform is complex and difficult to analyze . Artificially induced cells to produce synchronized calcium oscillations help people build characteristics of calcium signaling a potential mechanism for in-depth study . Transparent flat layout geometries microfluidic chip is more suitable for observation , testing , and structural design of micro-channel chip flexible , micro -channel size can be compared with the cell size can be precisely controlled fluid with an integrated , automated characteristics, is ideal for treatment of cells with different reagents and detection of cell signal corresponding research . This design produced a micro-channel structure for the class Y-shaped microfluidic chip, optimized for fast switching solution method, HeLa cells were cultured on the chip , and the cells were treated with thapsigargin , by rapidly switching control of extracellular calcium solution concentration , simultaneous detection of HeLa cells cytosolic calcium signals. Experimental results show that the group of artificial induction of HeLa cells produce the same frequency , the amplitude is relatively constant synchronization calcium oscillations , also found that the cell populations synchronized calcium oscillation amplitude with the extracellular calcium ion concentration increases. This development calcium induced oscillation generating a synchronization method can be used to study cell signal transduction related to various calcium molecule. For example, in a variety of signal transduction pathways play a catalytic adenylate cyclase ATP into cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) role, and cytosolic free calcium concentration can regulate the activity of adenylate cyclase , such as calcium oscillations can be detected cells synchronized concentration of cAMP , it will reveal the Ca 2 sup> and cAMP two important second messenger in signal transduction network interaction has important significance.
