Purpose: Nasal polyps are common and frequently occurring clinical etiology is unclear so far. General adult incidence of about 1-4%, the and easy recurrence is a feature of the disease. The study confirmed nasal polyp inflammatory tumor microenvironment control, scholars tend to a role in the etiology of multifactorial doctrine. Infections and allergic reactions can lead to the occurrence of nasal polyps, nasal polyps and allergy relationship has been reported by many authors. Recent years, studies have shown that abnormal metabolism of free radicals development are closely related with the occurrence of many diseases. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity reflects the intracellular free radical scavenging antioxidant capacity; malondialdehyde (MDA) is a body from lipid peroxidation product, MDA contents reflect lipid peroxidation degree indirectly reflects cell damage; SOD and MDA is the main indicator to measure free radicals basal metabolic state. Adenosine deaminase (ADA) is an important enzyme in the purine nucleotide metabolism are closely linked with the production of free radicals and metabolism. The purpose of this study is to determine the nasal polyps and serum MDA, SOD and ADA activity, and to explore the relationship between the three nasal polyps and three, to evaluate their role in the pathogenesis of nasal polyps, to provide a theoretical basis for the the clinical effective treatment and prevention of the occurrence of nasal polyps. METHODS: case selection, experimental groups drawn from this study sub-group, two groups of nasal polyps group and a deviated nasal septum. Nasal polyps and inferior turbinate mucosa and serum samples from October 2006 - March 2007 in our hospital for endoscopic sinus surgery, nasal polyps group 24 cases, including 15 males and 9 females, age 14-54 years old, with an average age of 34.6 years; deviated nasal septum group of 20 patients, all male patients, aged 23-55 years old, with an average age of 36.5 years. All patients had a comprehensive physical examination to rule out a history of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, liver disease, kidney disease and other chronic diseases. Deviated nasal septum in patients with allergic rhinitis in accordance with the 1997 Haikou revised diagnostic criteria exclude perennial allergic rhinitis and hay fever sufferers. The nasal endoscopic forceps nasal mucosa of patients with nasal polyps and deviated nasal septum and side turbinate hypertrophy need line partial turbinectomy patients into saline rinse clean bloodstains -20 ℃ refrigerator; extraction in patients with morning fasting blood serum after centrifugation and stored at -20 ℃ refrigerator. Nasal polyps were confirmed by pathology. TBA colorimetry, xanthine oxidase and Gisti colorimetry were detected 30 cases of nasal polyps patients and 20 patients with a deviated nasal septum patients under turbinate mucosal tissue homogenates after centrifugation serum MDA content and SOD, the ADA activity. Results: 1. Organizations in the MDA, SOD and content of MDA in the the ADA results of the experimental group (2.93 ± 0.25) nmol / mgprot significantly higher than that of the control group (1.66 ± 0.12) nmol / mgprot; experimental group in SOD activity (8.64 ± 1.02) U / mgprot significantly lower than the control group (13.37 ± 2.95) U / mgprot; another experimental group ADA activity (10.43 ± 0.87) U / mgprot significantly higher than the control group (6.16 ± 0.52) U / mgprot above comparison has statistically significant (P lt; 0.05). Serum MDA content of MDA, SOD, ADA results in the experimental group (5.84 ± 0.38) nmol / ml was significantly higher than that of the control group (3.79 ± 0.31) nmol / ml; experimental group SOD activity (13.28 ± 2.31) U / ml was significantly lower than the control group (29.64 ± 3.68) U / ml; ADA activity in other experimental group (9.66 ± 0.79) U / ml was significantly higher than that of the control group (6.31 ± 0.48) U / ml. The results are consistent with the organization. The above comparison was statistically significant (P lt; 0.05). Organization. Correlation between MDA content and SOD activity in the experimental group MDA content and SOD activity was negatively correlated, the correlation coefficient was statistically significant. (R = -0.74, P lt; 0.05). Correlation between MDA content and SOD activity in the experimental group. Serum MDA content and SOD activity was inversely related to the correlation coefficient was statistically significant. (R = -0.86, P lt; 0.05). 5. Tissue content of MDA and ADA activity in the experimental group of the correlation between the content of MDA and ADA activity was positively correlated, the correlation coefficient was statistically significant. (R = 0.66, P lt; 0.05). The relationship between the content of MDA and ADA activity in the serum content of the experimental group of MDA and ADA activity was positively correlated, the correlation coefficient was statistically significant. (R = 0.89, P lt; 0.05). Conclusion: The incidence of nasal polyps is the result of many factors, studies have shown that abnormal metabolism of free radicals is one of the important factors in the pathogenesis of nasal polyps. Under normal physiological conditions, low content of free radicals in the nasal polyps, enzyme systems in the body, and antioxidants can be cleared, had no significant effect on the body. SOD is a radical scavenging system, the most important substance in the tissue cells, the activity of SOD reflects the intracellular free radical scavenging antioxidant capacity. Low levels can be maintained in the normal in vivo production and scavenging of oxygen free radicals, the good balance. In patients with nasal polyps of SOD activity was significantly decreased antioxidant capacity decreased radical decreased ability to remove the body and local. MDA content can reflect the extent of lipid peroxidation, indirectly reflects cell damage, the MDA content was significantly higher in the patients with nasal polyps tissue and serum reflect machine lipid peroxidation increases indirectly reflect cell by The degree of loss. ADA is the the adenosine degradation of critical enzyme, or a sign of T-cell activation, have close ties with the maintenance of the immune system, and neutrophils generated free radicals NO-, O2-, H2O2 and OH-, nasal polyps body ADA activity was significantly higher in patients machine, so that the whole body and nasal cavity the local weakened immune system, increased the content of free radicals, the aggravation of the inflammatory response induced by damage caused by their common occurrence of nasal polyps. In short, nasal polyp patients free radical scavenging capacity decreased lipid peroxidation active, prompt radical metabolic disorder pathogenesis of nasal polyps, the immune system by the same incentives nasal polyps damage which systemic and local effective treatment of nasal polyps and prevention of recurrent nasal polyps provide a theoretical basis.
