Abstract


“Momentum”,a significant concept of the theory of traditional Chinese painting which get to each stage of painting, is an effective method used to break the confinement of time and space and to represent the infinity of spirit of life with limited space, moreover, it is also an extreme concern standard of criticism. This paper is aimed at obtaining a clear understanding of“momentum”by analyzing the“Momentum-theory”in the theory of the ancient traditional Chinese painting from three aspects (appearance, Composition, vigour) on the basis of the conclusion of the meaning of momentum.
