Abstract


Mo Yan’s fantastic imagination and innovation is a kind of very special scenery in Chinese literature. When entering Chinese literature from 80s in 20th century, he has kept working on the discovery and innovation in the art of novel from various aspects. Whatever for the popularity of "Looking for Root Literature", or "New Realistic Literature", or even "Faerie Realistic Literature", Mo Yan is always the pioneer in fashion. He dares to exploit new styles in literature. His daring treachery and strong blasphemy, inspire him to introduce the aesthetics of the ugly in esthetics into novel indicting, even leads to the top, which incurs lots of criticism from critics and readers. This article is trying to analyze the innovation features and breakthroughs, the art achievements and blemish in Mo Yan’s Novels, from the representation, feature, cause, impact and etc of Mo Yan’s "the aesthetics of ugly".In Mo Yan’s novels, "aesthetics of the ugly" has been led to the extreme. From the non-aesthetics aspects, it represented by violence-terror, dirty-nausea and other characteristics. From the aesthetics aspects, it’s presented by peoples’ looking, behavior and tongue.Mo Yan’s novels are based on civic position. They are for civilians. Through ugly aesthetics, his pieces not only expresses revelry best, but also animadverts on the traditional repressive life-culture, brings changes to corrupt social-rules, affirms the life in civilians. This ugly aesthetics applying to novels, is a great innovation and exploration in novel arts!
