Abstract


As the world's political, economic and cultural development, the English play an increasingly important role in modern society. Nevertheless, the effect of the high school English language learning and teaching is still unsatisfactory, especially in English reading. Although students have mastered the vocabulary and grammar of a certain amount of knowledge, students 'reading comprehension skills are not high, how to improve students' English reading level is placed in an urgent need to solve the problem. Autonomous learning theory is attracting more and more attention of researchers, questioned that it has become the pursuit of the goal of language teaching, some researchers also try to autonomous learning theory is introduced to learning to read English, and to find a new line effective way to improve students' reading ability. I would like to investigate the autonomy of the current high school students in English reading, focused on the students before reading plan, monitor reading, reading to evaluate the performance of the three stages, autonomy for the assessment and understanding of high school students in English reading, help teachers The reading teaching work to develop appropriate plans to develop students 'reading autonomy carried out a detailed survey, in addition to the possibility of factors that affect students' autonomy play. The study used quantitative and qualitative methods, quantitative research questionnaire data from high school students, in order to explore the impact of students' reading autonomous factors at the same time, some students face-to-face interviews, which we read to the students in the autonomous behavior to arrive at an overall impression of the main results are as follows: 1. Overall, high school students in English reading showed a certain degree of autonomy, specifically student performance in different stages of autonomy, Secondary monitoring more than read before the plans and reading evaluation frequent reading program before autonomy is not high, students generally lack the reading evaluation. 2 This study also shows that autonomy performance in English reading and student reading achievement exists a positive correlation that the higher degree of autonomy performance of students in English reading, the better the reading achievement of students. Through interviews with two groups of representative students gather to sort out some factors may affect students' reading autonomy. Reading motivation is not strong, the interest is not high, the lack of self-confidence, as well as the traditional teaching model based on these findings, teachers should also do a lot of work to promote and improve the autonomy of the students to read in English reading teaching, not only now but also in the future, students will benefited from good study habits.
