Abstract

Foreign language anxiety is a state of tension, fear and other emotions in the context of the use of the target language. As an important affective variables affecting language learning in recent years, the study of foreign language learning anxiety has gradually become commonplace. The researchers not only the definition and classification of foreign language anxiety and foreign language anxiety of listening, speaking, reading, writing and attainment skills to expand the research. Although the study results are not consistent, but there is little fundamental universally recognized, that the four elements of listening, speaking, reading and writing in foreign language learning, is generally believed that speaking and anxiety most closely related. The researchers summarized the literature of foreign language anxiety based on 158 high school students to two different levels of schools in Nanjing as the research object, the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) and oral test as a research tool, using modern statistical methods measured not only on the general level of high school foreign language anxiety also scientifically explore the relationship between foreign language anxiety and oral expression levels. On this basis, the researchers through observation, interviews and other qualitative research methods, trying to explore the main causes of high school students in a foreign language oral anxiety. The results show that: compared with the key middle school students, high school foreign language anxiety index of general secondary schools is significantly higher; foreign language anxiety of the two schools do not exist significant gender differences; oral performance of two school foreign language anxiety value students were highly significant negative correlation; students' foreign language anxiety levels, anxiety on the oral performance are not promoted, and the higher the level of anxiety, the more obvious the negative effects of oral; classroom activities and classroom teaching methods, language skills, personality factors as well as evaluating are likely to cause Oral important reason for anxiety. According to the findings, the researchers proposed several ways to reduce the anxiety level of the students in the process of oral expression: teachers in the classroom activities should be appropriate arrangements for the students to cooperative learning; teachers should make full use of classroom time for students to provide comprehensible input increase exercise opportunities to help students in the clever use of two kinds of memory \development of speaking ability. In addition, the researchers also pointed out the limitations of this study, and put forward a plan for further study.
