Abstract

TV talk shows, also translated into a talk show, is essentially a session. It belongs to the scope of the institutional discourse as a media language, and thus possess the characteristics of everyday conversation and institutional discourse, interpersonal interaction, and media communication combination. In this study, based on conversation analysis theory based on Sacks et al, by contrast English television talk show session with everyday conversation in the overall structure, then turn - adjacent to respond to the discourse regarding amendments to the similarities and differences, and to reveal the structure of the English TV talk show sessions The characteristic surface through language to understand the impact of social factors, such as the identity of the institutional discourse, discourse power, and other aspects of conversational structure.
