Abstract


Objective: To understand the internship baseline level of nursing students in AIDS-related knowledge , attitudes and behavior and incidence of needle stick injuries , to explore the effectiveness and feasibility of AIDS prevention and occupational protection education on AIDS prevention and occupational protection education for nursing students to provide a theoretical basis. Methods: In this study, using a quasi-experimental design consists of three stages . Baseline survey and analysis in the first stage , the development of educational programs ; six consecutive months of the implementation of the second phase of health education ; third stage of the evaluation of the effectiveness of education . Results: (1) baseline survey : 544 nursing students AIDS knowledge score of 9.53 ± 3.11 points , attitude score of 163.82 ± 15.06 points , 5.33% of the incidence of sexual behavior ; including unprotected sex accounted for 48.42% ; acupuncture injury incidence rate of 50.90% ; (2) the effect of education : Education Unit AIDS knowledge score was higher than that in control group ; education before and after education group knowledge score increased from 9.54 ± 3.03 to 16.57 ± 1.02 ; Education Unit AIDS attitude score higher than the control education before and after education group treatment of AIDS attitude score increased from 162.94 ± 14.13 to 180.73 ± 13.98 . Education Unit unprotected sex incidence higher than that in control group ; education before and after education group protected sexual intercourse rate increased from 44.40% to 91.70% ; education before and after education group needlestick injuries occurred decreased from 52.33% to 30.12% . Conclusion: nursing students on HIV and occupational protection education , to improve the knowledge of AIDS , and to mitigate the discrimination of AIDS , and increase the incidence of unprotected sex , and effectively reduce the incidence of needlestick injuries , as the student nurses AIDS prevention and control and occupational protection education research provides a theoretical basis .
