Abstract


Aluminum alloy castings have a wide range of applications in the industrial field , including an Al-Si and Al-Cu series alloy casting applications most widely used . Difficult to avoid the various defects in the production of aluminum alloy casting , casting defects resolved will directly increase economic efficiency . Al-Cu -based alloy solidification temperature range is wide , the most prone to hot cracking defects ; an Al - Si based alloy , the high silicon content of the alloy , the hydrogen-absorbing tendency is serious , the casting is likely to form a pinhole . The subject combined production of the actual sand casting complex thin-walled the ZL201 castings bracket cracks and misrun defects ; symmetry planes of complex thin-walled metal casting ZL102 casting porosity and cold shut defects ; using sand casting thick-walled the ZL114 castings beams the pinhole defects were studied. Characteristics of the casting , alloy composition, casting methods and defects have strong representation. Drawn through experimental analysis : SUPERSATURATED ZL201 casting bracket thermal cracks due to alloy solidification characteristics , uneven wall thickness of the part , part central thin-walled structure of the core the sand core concessions poor causes , measures to solve cold iron placed in the hot spot , the middle of Heavy sand core hollow structure , the use of low pouring temperature of 710 ° C . Its not pouring enough defect is due to hold your breath impede liquid metal filling local solutions to improve the sand core of local exhaust . ZL102 casting symmetric frame porosity defects due to sand core gas evolution is large, poor metal type exhaust the strong alloy itself inspiratory reason cause the measures to extend the heating time when the core of the hot box method , to ensure fully cured sand core , lower gas evolution , strengthening alloy liquid degassing . The cold shut defect is a convergence of two streams at the thin wall of the casting to be resolved by modifying the gating system . Beams and aluminum ZL114A casting pinhole defects caused mainly due to the quality of liquid aluminum , solve the measures to control the the alloy liquid gas sources , strengthen the the liquid aluminum degassing refining process speed up the casting solidification rate . Verified by actual production to take such measures , the casting defects are a good solution .
