Five-axis NC machine tools have been increasingly widely used in factories with CNC machining technology devlopping, and thay have become the products of the mainstream which a modern machine tool companies produced. However, due to the foreign technology embargo on five-axis machine tool, there are still many significant gaps in development of five-axis machine tools in China. In this paper, we will study the post-processing for five-axis NC machine tools.This article made a systematic search of the post-processing algorithm, focused on the characteristics of different structures for five-axis NC machine tools. On the basis of the different types of five-axis NC machine tools, matching the specific numerical control system, setting the machine parameters, procedures and parameters of tool path, NC code format and so on, adding the G and M code in the corresponding position of the process,customizing a user’s command using TCL language, adding the subroutine of calculating the rotation axis angle and the translation axis coordinate, by the UG / Post Builder General Postprocessor. Some research into the development of five-axis NC machine tool post processing has be made.At the same time, to verify Mikron600UM128 module based on UG / POST Buider used Mikron 600U Dual turntable five-axis NC machine tool to generate NC code post-processing process. the NC code generated by a dedicated post-processing procedure can be used without artificial secondary processing,and can be used on Mikron 600U of five-axis machining center equipped with the Heidenhain (Heidenhain) ITNC 530/2P CNC, processing all kinds of complicated surface components, thereby greatly improve the efficiency of UG automatic programming, achieve CNC machining automation. It has a positive effect on the developed post-processing of five-axis CNC machine tool based on UG..
